Ray's sterling piano technique complements to perfection Cruz's formidable vocal skills, as the their two-trumpet lineup soars to unknown heights. The compilation boasts good sound, which keeps their timely ideas fresh and delightful. Richie Ray and Bobby Cruz were one of the few, if not only artists to have been on almost all the most important Fania record labels (Vaya, Alegre, Tico) and for good reason. This album gives you these more than enough reasons. There piano and trumpet make for an absolutely unmistakable sound that will just blow you away. Their all-time greats "Aguzate" and "Sonido Bestial" are shoe-ins for this album. Along with "Traigo de Todo" and "Comejen", this album is jam packed with flavor and energy. One of their most underrated "El Diferente" is also. Good but some of the best songs are missing. La Herencia from Ricardo Ray and Bobby Cruz is a more complete album. One person found this helpful.

Simplemente Lo Mejor is a greatest hits album by Guatemalan singer-songwriter Ricardo Arjona that was released on December 2, 2008. The album is composed of Arjona's number-one hits, drawn from Animal Nocturno (1993) to Galería Caribe (2000). It served as his final project under the Sony Music label after signing a contract with Warner Music in 2008.

Closely associated with pianist Ricardo Ray for much of his career, vocalist Bobby Cruz enjoyed over a decade of fame as a trailblazer of boogaloo, and subsequently salsa, before receding from the spotlight during the '80s and refocusing his efforts on Christianity. Cruz began his recording career as a vocalist in the Ricardo Ray Orchestra in 1964 on Fonseca Records, and by the end of the decade, after singing lead vocals on such hits as "Mr. Trumpet Man," he'd earned himself co-billing on the duo's albums for Alegre Records. Their Vaya debut, El Bestial Sonido de Richie Ray y Bobby Cruz (1971), marks the beginning of their salsa phase and is one of their best albums overall. During this period, Cruz made his solo debut with Bobby Cruz Canta para Ti (1972), produced by Ray. The duo was at the height of its popularity during the early to mid-'70s and performed frequently.
