Only for completionists (1%). By the time of their third album, Spirogyra were down to a duo as both Cussack and Borril were listed as guests along with Dave Mattacks and others including a cellist. This third offering is a fine return to form compared to their poorer Old Boot Wine album
Complete sua coleção de Spirogyra. The utter clarity of Gaskin's voice, the erratic songwriting and many interesting and imaginative arrangements, these all seem to peak on this their third and last album. The sadness and despair, already strongly present on their previous efforts, come to a head and now sound chillingly urgent. The contributions of Henry Lowther's trumpet also work wonders, greatly so in ''The Furthest Point'', a minor classic all by itself. Boasting not one single under-average track, this record belongs to the very top of Britain's seventies folk-rock.
Their final album, Bells, Boots and Shambles, appeared on Polydor in April 1973 and sold poorly. Widely regarded today as one of the classics of British 'acid folk', it featured guest appearances from the band's former members, as well as contributions from Henry Lowther on trumpet. Copies of all three albums are rare and expensive today. He reunited with Mark Francis using their original Spirogyra name, and from 2004 to 2006 they recorded a new album which was finally released as a physical CD in 2009, entitled Children's Earth. At the same time another new album called Rainbow Empire, while officially a Martin Cockerham solo release, featured the same collaborations and is musically cognate.

Bells Boots and Shambles. This third album by Spirogyra is in many ways their most progressive - flutes, trumpets, cellos, treated vocals, long instrumental sections - and of course it features singer Barbara Gaskin, later of Hatfield and The North, National Health and the famed Dave Stewart/Barbara Gaskin juggernaut. All songs and male vocals are by Martin Cockerham, who writes very hummable tunes with biting lyrics.
