Avenged Sevenfold (also known as The White Album) is the self-titled fourth studio album by American heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold, released on October 30, 2007 by Warner Bros.
Bat Country' is a song from Avenged Sevenfold's third album 'City of Evil,' released in 2005. The song was also released as the second single from the album. Avenged Sevenfold took inspiration for "Bat Country" from 1971 novel Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson and 1998 film adaptation. The title of the song comes from a quote of character Raoul Duke, who was affected by various drugs and hallucinated, seeing large bats and manta rays in the sky. He told his companion Dr. Gonzo, "We can't stop here. Though, the song title isn't mentioned in the lyrics.
