Complete your Synergy collection. html quickly reveals both the LP and the CD came out in 1981, not 1986.

Computer Experiments - Volume One is a music studio album recording by SYNERGY (Prog Related/Progressive Rock) released in 1981 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. One of the less interesting ones. This probably explains why there volume 1 has basically been a dead end and there haven't been any volume 2. The music here isn't actually bad, nor is it particularly compelling. For a more interesting computer generated music experiment, I recommend Eno's recent 11 Million Paintings. I have the 1986 version made from a LP-equalized and compressed cutting master.

Is Computer Experiments Volume One the best album by Synergy? BestEverAlbums. com brings together thousands of 'greatest ever album' charts and calculates an overall ranking. Computer Experiments Volume One by Synergy (1981) Overall rank: 85,895th.

Larry Fast (aka Synergy) was decades ahead of his time. Computer Experiments, Vol. 1 provides ample proof of that. It was the companion LP to Audion in 1981, issued on Passport Records and reissued on cassette and CD in 1986. Fast remastered and reissued it in 1998. The three soundscapes on this recording are from a self-composing computer program, Pink Tunes, developed by John Simonton.

Starting with the first SYNERGY album, "Electronic Realizations for Rock Orchestra" recorded in 1975, and through the most recent SYNERGY releases, Larry's albums of electronic music have been on the cutting edge of studio production techniques and the development of new music technologies. Respect for the music composition and arrangements heard on the SYNERGY albums have led to wide-ranging work with a variety of artists in many styles over the years. He developed his own computer software used both in live performances with Peter Gabriel and on the ambient SYNERGY "Computer Experiments Volume One" (1980). Larry currently beta tests computer applications for music software companies, test flying their MIDI and audio software on his projects. Larry Fast has also been the primary electronics designer on other audio projects.
