Both songs are excellent and feature some fantastic riffs and a breakneak pace punctuated by slower, more atmospheric sections. but this is by no means technical death metal. This split is actually a really useful release for Mammoth Grinder fans. The Legion tracks are closely related enough to Mammoth Grinder's previous output to satisfy the band's fanbase, setting them up for the significant change in musical direction Mammoth Grinder themselves would undertake on Extinction of Humanity. The split, then, is the perfect way to ease your way between the two styles.

This is a good example of a split release done right. Legion, from Birmingham, AL (members of Die Young and Coliseum) and Mammoth Grinder (members of Hatred Surge), from Austin, TX, both play heavy, fast hardcore music in similar styles, but each are strong enough to hold their own on their respective sides. Legion follow up their debut 7", Saviour, with two brand new tracks of intense, stop-and-start hardcore with great dual guitar arrangements as well as killer basslines throughout with strong Integrity influence

Legion, Mammoth Grinder is a crust punk music split recording by MAMMOTH GRINDER released in 2009 on CD, LP/Vinyl and/or cassette. 7" 45 RPM vinyl split released 2009 on Nuclear Solutions (NSR01), limited to 300 copies. Legion's tracks were recorded by Bryan Sveum. The Mammoth Grinder tracks are from the same session as 'Extinction of Humanity'. Thanks to 666sharon666 for the addition and Bosh66 for the updates.
