Street of Dreams (Grant Green album). Street of Dreams is an album by American jazz guitarist Grant Green featuring performances recorded in 1964 and released on the Blue Note label. The street signs featured on the cover photo are at an actual street corner in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco.

Grant Green's guitar lines are so fluid and blues/R&B influenced, that it sounds effortless and almost makes you drift into a dream (or a 'Street of Dreams'). It's easy to see where guitarists like George Benson got their influences, and Green's easy-going style surely laid the way for Smooth guitarists of the late 60's onward. Larry Young's organ playing is indespensible, and makes this album really cook; not many (aside from Jimmy Smith and Jack McDuff) can play the organ so soulfully

Grant Green's second session with organist Larry Young, Street of Dreams brings back drummer Elvin Jones and adds Bobby Hutcherson on vibes for a mellow, dreamy album that lives up to its title. There are only four selections, all standards and all around eight to ten minutes long, and the musicians approach them as extended mood pieces, creating a marvelously light, cool atmosphere that's maintained throughout the record

Grant Green (1931-79) is probably the most sampled guitarist of his generation, and is rightly regarded as a godfather of acid jazz. His debut, Grant's First Stand (Blue Note, 1961)-heavy on the good foot groove-was made with soul jazz organist Baby Face Willette, and by 1965, when Green recorded an album for Verve, the label was able to title it, accurately enough, His Majesty King Funk. Many of Green's post-1970 recordings were built around extended, vamp or ostinato driven jams. Like the earlier album, Street Of Dreams has been reissued as part of Blue Note's ongoing RVG strand (a series of albums remastered by original recording engineer Rudy Van Gelder and often, though not in this case, including previously unissued alternate takes). For Street Of Dreams, Green was reunited with Hutcherson.

Green Street is an album by American jazz guitarist Grant Green featuring performances recorded and released on the Blue Note label in 1961. The CD reissue features two alternate takes from the same session as bonus tracks. All compositions by Grant Green except as indicated.

Street of Dreams is an album by American jazz guitarist Grant Green featuring performances recorded in 1964 and released on the Blue Note label. It's another fine record in a discography filled with them, and yet another underrated Green session".
