Car 54, Where Are You? is an American sitcom that aired on NBC from September 1961 to April 1963, is the story of two New York City police officers based in the fictional 53rd precinct in The Bronx. Car 54 was their patrol car. Filming was on location, and at Biograph Studios in the Bronx.

Car 54 Rap Written by . Everyone grows up with some cherished memories. One of mine was the . series "Car 54, Where Are You?". It had a simple charm and the main characters Toody (Joe E. Ross) and Muldoon (Fred Gwynne) were gentle and the humour was good clean fun. Although they would mess things up at the beginning of each episode they would somehow get everything alright in the end without anyone getting into harm. Fred Gwynne's character (Muldoon) evoked sympathy and love from his viewers - especially children.

Joe E. Ross (born Joseph Roszawikz, March 15, 1914 – August 13, 1982) was an American actor known for his trademark "Ooh! Ooh!" exclamation, which he used in many of his roles  . After The Phil Silvers Show ended in 1959, Nat Hiken went on to produce Car 54, Where Are You? and cast Joe E. Ross as Patrolman Gunther Toody of New York's 53rd Precinct. Fred Gwynne, another Bilko alumnus, played Toody's partner, Francis Muldoon. Toody could usually be counted on at some point to say, "Ooh! Ooh!" or "Do you mind? Do - you - mind?". Ross became so identified with his policeman role that he recorded an album of songs entitled "Love Songs from a Cop". Roulette Records released the LP in 1964.

Created by Nat Hiken. With Joe E. Ross, Fred Gwynne, Paul Reed, Al Lewis. The misadventures of two of New York's finest in the 53rd precinct in the Bronx. Keep track of everything you watch; tell your friends.

Miami Beach comedian Lou Marsh also appeared in the film and told me, Oh, geez, yeah. We did a spoof of The Godfather. It starred Frank Fontaine, myself, my partner Tony Adams, Jerry Lester, Billy Barty - and Mickey Rooney too! Billy Barty had a way of breaking us up. He’d walk up to us. ‘What’s wrong with you? You’re not funny!’
