Kathy Kirby (born Kathleen O'Rourke; 20 October 1938 – 19 May 2011) was an English singer, reportedly the highest-paid female singer of her generation. She is best known for her cover version of Doris Day's "Secret Love" and for representing the United Kingdom in the 1965 Eurovision Song Contest where she finished in second place. Her physical appearance often drew comparisons with Marilyn Monroe.

So how did I Belong fare at the 1965 Eurovision Song Contest in Naples, Italy? Fairly well, actually. If you could consider I Belong to be a little dated, most of the rest of the field in the tenth contest were even more so. A procession of ballads greeted the Eurovision viewer that year until the 15th act of the night, where Luxembourg had decided to bring a hired gun to a knife fight. The 17-year-old France Gall annihilated the competition with her fresh and cheeky pop song penned by legendary French singer songwriter Serge Gainsbourg.
