Storming onto the scene with his 2009 debut album ‘Love is a Liability’, Drew Lustman shamelessly and deliciously dabbled with and dipped into garage, electronica, house, techno, dubstep, 8-bit, jungle and anything he bloody well pleased, weaving it together and tearing it up again shortly afterwards. There was a blatant disregard for form, continuity and structure, but it all sounded great, thus earning Lustman his stripes as a talented production maverick

FaltyDL - In The Wild Drew Lustman, AKA FaltyDL, clearly doesn't play things straight, restlessly flipping between two-step, house and Brainfeeder-style beats. Just as Actress did on the labyrinthine Ghettoville, Lustman demonstrates that an album of fragmentary pieces, jump-cuts and tonal lurches is not necessarily the sign of an untidy mind. It's clear that every second of In The Wild has been painstakingly calibrated. For instance, the contrast between the spectral wash of sound that is "Aqui, Port Lligat," the chirruping, quicksilver "New Haven" and the gaseous, ambient atmospherics of "Uptight" could not be more different, yet the those tracks segue with the logic of an artfully programmed DJ set.

Last year’s Hardcourage album lifted FaltyDL’s Drew Lustman into the next division thanks to its emotive and evocative span of highly charged beeps and bleeps. He goes deeper still on In the Wild, with various washes of rich, vibrant, colourful sound rinsed and ready for view. A track such as Some Jazz Shit signals a new range of influences for Lustman to roll out, as its beautifully contoured groove and dubstep re-do ebbs and flows without losing the interest of the listener. Elsewhere, you can see the intricate, detailed production talent which has seen Lustman find favour with James Blake,.
Genre: Future Garage. The charm of the disconnected, breezy path that starts the album. quickly wears thin when you realize said path meanders, the tracks mostly underdeveloped, only occasionally rolling into a bigger sound with tangible depth.
The Wild is the seventh studio album by American rapper Raekwon. The album was released on March 24, 2017, by Ice H20 Records and Empire Distribution.
What is "The Wild?" FaltyDL: This album is my shield. It's a lot of me. "The Wild" is anywhere outside of my apartment, really. In The Wild is also quite long, at just under an hour. I've had a fairly recent obsession with short albums-it's a sort of lust for directness, I suppose-but I really enjoy In The Wild because, in part, I can see that it's not so much about how long the release is, but how and where you manoeuvre within that time period, you know? FaltyDL: Yeah for sure-and it's also about doing different kinds of records.
