  • Pretty obscure release from the mid nineties, although not all that bad. Ovulation, the label side track, meant to be spinned at 33RPM, is a typical acid trance tune of the era. It takes some time to properly build, then it tends to reach the point where a few combined layers interact with the acid synths, only to slowly decrease in intensity and head towards the outro section, ending in the same way it started. Unfortunately, nothing is memorable in this track. The structure, the melodies lack determination and distinctivness, the acid is so trivial you will hardly notice it, the layers are just too bleak and don't complement each other in a way that would make you want to play this track often... Overall, this one can be comfortly skipped. Al, on the flip side, spinned at 45RPM, is slightly more interesting. A hypnotic and repetitive acid number with broken beats and a steady, simple but well structured acid sequence, on the strenght of which, combined with the odd drum programming, makes this track worth giving a shot. Nothing that will change your general opinion about either trance or acid, but this is just done well, and gives something of an unusual feel listening to this one, with its mid tempo pace, steady and constant acid driving you into a trance. I guess.
