Love Comin' Down (Shanachie). Love Comin' Down (Shanachie). When a career has been built as steadily as Sue Foley's, where each new album shows marked growth and forward movement, there comes a time to step off the fast track and let that experience simply be heard. Foley not only takes her place alongside Susan Tedeschi, Debbie Davis, Deborah Coleman, and all the other women wielding blues guitar in one of the last bastions of male musicianship, but she gets to sit down and enjoy it. Like.

On Love Comin' Down, Foley swings through flamenco (including a sensuous electric solo!), gritty boogie woogie, quiet love songs, sassy struts, and flaming electric blues cuts. She is truly multi-talented. While, Foley's latest effort did not make me any more of a fan of her music than before, I now have a greater respect for her astounding guitar chops. This album is not flashy, Foley's guitar work does not fly up and hit you. Rather, the more you listen to her, the more your jaw drops. Slowly, you begin to realize the extent of her abilities and her music takes on a whole new.

Sue Foley (born March 29, 1968) is a Canadian blues singer and guitarist. Foley was born in Ottawa, Ontario, and spent her early childhood in Canada. She learned to play guitar at age 13, became interested in blues music from listening to the Rolling Stones, and played her first gig at age 16. After high school graduation, she relocated to Vancouver where she formed The Sue Foley Band and toured Canada.
