Violence & Force is the second studio album by the Canadian speed metal band Exciter, released through Megaforce Records in 1984. The album was produced by The Rods drummer Carl Canedy, who had already produced Anthrax's debut album Fistful of Metal. The album was reissued in 1999 by SPV/Steamhammer with the same track listing and again in 2004 by Megaforce, without the song "Evil Sinner". Violence & Force" – 4:04. Scream in the Night" – 4:13. Heavy Metal Maniac is the first studio album by the Canadian speed metal band Exciter, released through Shrapnel Records in 1983. The album was reissued by Megaforce Records in 2005. Heavy Metal Maniac was inducted into the Decibel Magazine Hall of Fame in a special issue regarding the Top 100 Old-School Metal Albums of All Time. An early thrash band from the early '80s, they could have been as popular as Metallica, but soon were lost among the competition. This classic album still holds up today.

Yes, a true Metal CLASSIC. One of the originators of the Speed/Thrash genres, Exciters debut completely holds up and it rips! Original pressings remain a cheap bargain considering the quality of the music and historical importance to the genre.

Due to limitations the following tracks are missing: 1. "Mistress of Evil" from Heavy Metal Maniac. "Evil Sinner" from Violence and Force. Recording information: Tracks 1-8: - Recorded August 1982 at The Dungeon Studios in Aylmer, Quebec, Canada.

The album mostly sounds like Ace Of Spades era Motorhead and Jaguar but with very gritty production. The production gives the album a raw and underground as well as a metal feel. Track 2 and 3 are nonstop speed metal anthems that don't let up throughout, it's as if though somebody gave Exciter steroids in the studio, crazy stuff. When track 4 starts playing, the album shifts more toward traditional Judas Priest-ish metal, but even then, the band doesn't let up. And at the end of the song, John kills your ears with one of the loudest guitar solos on a metal album

Heavy Metal Maniac, the debut album from our friends Exciter from Canada. The album calmly starts off with a wind gust on the track "Holocaust" which in turn leads into the track "Stand Up and Fight". This track is obviously influenced by punk and by the New Wave of British Heavy Metal(NWOBHM). I can hear a lot of Motorhead influence in this band. While the sound is somewhat dated, the album still has enough youthful energy to keep it moving along at a good headbang. Exciter will make an even better follow-up with "Violence and Force",but unfortunately did not progress, and today remain a footnote in Metal history.
