Spectrum VII is an album released by country musician David Allan Coe, released in 1979 on Columbia Records. Due to Coe's feud with Jimmy Buffett, who accused Coe of plagiarism, this album contained a note stating "Jimmy Buffett doesn't live in Key West anymore", a lyric from the song "Jimmy Buffett", which appeared on Coe's independent album Nothing Sacred. All songs written by David Allan Coe, except where noted. Rollin' with the Punches" - 1:59. On My Feet Again" - 3:30.

David Allan Coe's seventh and eighth albums for Columbia (documented here on CD by the illustrious Bear Family label from Germany as the fourth issue in their Coe retrospective series) reveal just how influential producer Billy Sherrill became on Coe's sound, and how completely he trusted Sherrill's instincts. Spectrum VII, issued in 1979, barely a year later, is full of beautiful honky tonk songs and whining pedal steel guitars as well as folky country waltzes and progressive country tunes that have as much in common with songwriters such as Jesse Colin Young and Jimmy Buffett as they do with Nash Vegas' finest.

By David Allan Coe Dedicated to Dr. Martin Scheid who saved my life when my appendix busted in Houston, and to all the people who came to my last concerts of 1978 and didn't complain that I was only able to sing from a wheel chair. I Spent a lifetime in prison believing ID never get over the fall busted for first degree I was to blind to see who was to blame for IT all some said the devil, but god only knows if I put my future in him other folks bet that ID never get on my feet again running and jumping free as a bird.
