1989 is the fifth studio album of pop superstar Taylor Swift. It was released on October 27th, 2014 and it’s her first completely pop album. After her album Red didn’t win the Grammy for Album Of The Year, Taylor stepped back and decided she may have a better chance if she changed her sound. I wanted it to be a sonically cohesive album, and it ended up really being the first I’ve done since Fearless. I also wanted the songs to sound exactly how the emotions felt. I know that’s pretty vague, so I really didn’t know where it was going to go, but I knew that I wanted to work with the collaborators I had such crazy electricity with on Red, like Max Martin. I wanted to do some things that sounded nothing like what we had done before.
1989 is the fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, released on October 27, 2014 through Big Machine Records. Recording process for the album began in 2013, during which time music critics noted her fourth studio album Red for its mild departure from Swift's signature country sound to more pop-oriented styles, and her romantic affairs were under media scrutiny. The lyrics address wistful perspectives on past romantic relationships and therefrom express self-discovery.
American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has released six studio albums, two extended plays (EP), four live albums, four video albums, 52 singles (including four as a featured artist), 17 promotional singles, and 44 music videos. With estimated sales of over 50 million albums and 150 million singles worldwide, Swift is one of the best-selling music artists.
Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Swift moved to Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 14 to pursue a career in country music. She signed with the label Big Machine Records and became the youngest artist ever signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house
In 1989, Taylor Swift was born. New Kids on the Block had their breakout year, Nirvana and Garth Brooks both released debut albums ('Bleach' and the self-titled 'Garth Brooks'), Young MC busted a move, Milli Vanilli were caught lip-synching and Disney's 'The Little Mermaid' hit theaters. Maybe none of this directly influenced Taylor Swift's new album, '1989,' but it does set the scene
First of all, 1989 is Taylor Swift’s first documented pop album. This album includes the following songs: -Welcome To New York: it is the perfect song to start the album with. Right from the start you can tell that it is a pop song and it sets the tone of 1989. Taylor sings about how moving to the magical and eclectic city of New York changed her and her perspective.
With 1989 she has succeeded in leveraging the most cordial and familiar of pop music outpourings to something that feels like a statement, a work of note and the sinew of some kind of emotional connective tissue–binding tastemakers, rock critics, guys I work with and my 12 year old cousin; irrevocably and unexpectedly.
